Hey all! I’m up for a featured post and I am alllllllllll about the ice cream today! πŸ˜‰

How adorable is this set, you guys?! I’m dying over here. I knew right away I wanted to make a monster of an ice cream cone (inspired by the giant eyes of my children at our local creamery) and I wanted as many flavors/colors as possible on my cone!

And this card of course had to use the “here’s the scoop” sentiment and I embossed it in black to make it pop on top of all the colors.

And finally, I popped that whole panel up on top of the latest gorgeous bold borders dies. These border dies are so much fun and really take your card up a notch.

My second card really shows off the Bold Borders die and you can see exactly why it’s called “Shine.” I used Vintage Jadeite cardstock (which reminds me of a sorbet color).

The sentiment is an offset in Raspberry Fizz and Hawaiian.

And finally this ice cream cone was created using the faux sprinkles from the previously released Shakers and Sprinkles set (still available! click link below!). I covered the whole scoop in the sprinkles and I LOVE how it turned out! πŸ™‚

And last but not least I used the Big Ice Cream Cone die to create this modern ice cream card.

I created the black watercolor stripes for a bold background and to accent the sentiment.

Garden of Faith + Seasonal Borders: Spring

Welcome to the last day of Papertrey Ink’s 11th Anniversary release countdown! Today my featured post is all about Betsy Veldman’s Garden of Faith and Seasonal Borders: Spring stamp sets.

My first project shows off a way to use the florals in the border set without using them as a border.

By spritzing your inked stamps you get a watercolor effect with more defined lines. I like to mix multiple ink colors together before spritzing for added interest.

This is actually my favorite card from this release. πŸ™‚

My second project shows off those borders! I stamped 4 of them and made an entire frame for my card which added so much that I barely needed to put anything other than my sentiment in the center.

And my final project uses the florals as an accent.

I also stamped a little more than half of my card base with some of the leaf designs from Garden of Faith for a little something extra.

Papertrey Ink // Throwback Thursdays: Doodlie-do

Hey friends! Welcome to one of the new weekly features with Papertrey Ink: Throwback Thursdays! Today, Melissa, Keeway and I are revisiting the Doodlie-do stamp and die set and showing you new, fresh ideas on how to use it. I hope you find some inspiration along the way!

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Doodlie do Throwback Thursdays

I started out by stamping the 5 petalled flower onto watercolor paper in 5 different ink colors. Then I used a wet paintbrush and a bit of additional ink to color in the entire flower. Once they were dry I stamped on top of them with black ink and die cut them with the coordinating dies.

I die cut the leaves from vellum and adhered all the flowers and vellum along the bottom and right edges. I finished the card off with a little bit of black paint splatter! I loved how vibrant the colors turned out against the white and black. This was such a fun stamp set to use… it really made me feel like summer is coming!! Now for some warm weather… πŸ˜‰
