Travelers Journal Post // Sketches

Hey friends! It’s the first Travelers Journal post of the New Year but the last of the Papertrey season! Today we are talking about how to use sketches in your travelers notebooks. 🙂

Above you see 6 different sketches that you can use for your Papertrey travelers journals. For my first layout I chose the middle-left one.

I used the left page to decorate and have a little fun with, and the right side for my image, title, and any journaling I wanted to add.

Sketches can be interpreted in so many different ways and are a great technique to use when you are just getting started, need a little inspiration, or even if you are dying to finish an album in a short amount of time.

My second layout uses the bottom-right sketch.

I actually sliced my photo on the left into fours to add a bit of a mosaic/tiled feel while still using just one image.

And then the right side of my layout is used for decoration, title, and journaling.

These are just two examples but you could honestly make an entire mini album or travelers journal based on these 6 sketches alone!!! And don’t be afraid to use your own previous layouts as inspiration for new layouts you will be creating. Your very own sketch inspirations. 🙂

Papertrey Ink // Celebrating the Past, Present and Future: 2013

Welcome back friends! Today’s PTI celebration is all about 2013 and I am working with the Cupid’s Arrow Stamp Set:

The Vault - Cupid's Arrow Stamp Set

I absolutely love making Valentine’s Day projects and little gifts for my kiddos so today I put together a tag and baggie set for some treats.

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Design Team Cupids Arrow Valentine's Day

I started out by creating a few different patterns on cardstock by stamping the hearts and arrows over and over. I also layered a doily on top of one of my tags and trimmed it down for a little added texture. After die cutting the Framed Heart Die from white cardstock, I then trimmed it out of the frame so I only used the “love” portion.

There is something so fun about love and Valentine’s Day sets that just never get old to me. I love how you can use them over and over again from year to year and they always seem brand new and still so fun!

Lil Inker Designs // Valentine

by Stephanie Gold for Lil Inker Designs Valentine Card

Good morning everyone! I made this cute little Valentine card from the latest Lil Inker Designs Release and I’m so excited to share it with you!

by Stephanie Gold for Lil Inker Designs Valentine Card

I created it using the Love You More Stamps set and coordinating Love You More Balloons and Hearts dies and also an older cover up die called Dotted Scallops – doesn’t that die just add the best texture to the background??

Anyway… have you begun making your Valentine’s yet? Or maybe you just make them for your kids, etc? Hoping you all have a wonderful week!

Lil Inker Designs // New Release Day 3

Alrighty its Day 3 of inspiration and fun! Have you commented on all the blogs for your chance to win the ENTIRE release yet?!

by Stephanie Gold for Lil Inker Designs Love You Much die Kitty Hugger

Ok so digging out this Center Point Chevron Cover Up die has obviously been really fun for me during this release. 🙂 For the top card I trimmed it down to an almost-square-rectangle (totally a thing) and then backed it with some pink cardstock. I die cut that ADORABLE little kitty in the same cardstock and used black ink to stamp the sentiment as well as the sweet face using the Kitty Hugger stamp/die bundle. The sentiment at the bottom was created using the Love You Much Border die and I kind of imagined the kitty saying “I love you THISSSSSS much” with her little outstretched arms. 🙂 I have too much fun.

Ugh. That kitten is so cute. I can’t. Moving on…

My last project for this release showcases the Today & Always Greeting die. I put that little guy front and center and left the background of this card simple and white.

Lil Inker Designs // New Release Day 2

Day 2 of Lil Inker Release fun!! How are you loving these new products? Gorgeous right?!

by Stephanie Gold for Lil Inker Designs Love you More heart balloons and dies Valentine's Day

So clean and simple cards tend to be love them or hate them, am I right? Well I am definitely a love them type of girl and I have a weird obsession with the simplicity of this one. I stamped the sentiment from the Love You More stamp set on pink cardstock and then die cut it with one of the balloon dies from the Love You More Balloon Heart die set.

The balloon is popped up and I stamped the string with a simple black ink. The outside accent is made with the Fringe Scallop Rectangle dies.

by Stephanie Gold for Lil Inker Designs be mine greeting die Valentine's Day

For the Be Mine Greeting die I put together a little gift pouch using a glassine baggie and filled it with cookies. 🙂 I stamped deep pink and light pink hearts around the whole thing and cut it to size with enough room in the back for a foldover flap.

Finishing it off I added a doily, rustic twine, and one of those darling Fringe Scalloped Heart dies. 🙂
