Throwback Thursday // Mehndi Medallion

Hey there friends and welcome to this week’s Throwback Thursday with Papertrey Ink! Today we are revisiting the Mehndi Medallion stamp set.

For me, anytime I see Mehndi art, I am instantly reminded of Henna tattoo art and Henna trees (which the Henna tattoo stain comes from)… so basically my mind quickly jumps to nature haha.

Henna Tree

With that in mind, I wanted to put some leaves reminiscent of Henna tree leaves on my card today.

I started by creating my focal point with the largest Mehndi stamp in Harvest Gold and accenting the circular pattern with stamped leaves in Green Parakeet and Limeade Ice.

To balance the darkness from the sentiment I added some black paint splatters and True Black twine but overall kept my design pretty simple.

Throwback Thursday // Fresh Floral Wrap Ups

Welcome to this weeks Throwback Thursday with Papertrey Ink! Today, Lizzie, Melissa P and I are here to show you some fun new takes on the previously released set, Fresh Floral Wrap Ups.

I combined this “old” set with one of the new die sets that just released this March, Shape Shifters: Oval 1. Using the sentiments in the stamp set I repeatedly stamped all over my die cut.

The floral is the focal point and I accented it by placing a small True Black oval directly behind it, as well as using bright colors on my floral wrap. The card is finished off with some black and white twine. 🙂

Throwback Thursdays: Delicate Details

Hello all! It’s time for another throwback with Papertrey Ink! Today we get to showcase one of my *favorite* past die collections… Delicate Details!! Yayyyyyaaaaaa Seriously I put these die cuts on everything… I add them to the bottom of tags, hitched on the string of tags, to gift bags, to cards… everything!! But today I wanted to show you how to create a quick and simple card using the largest die cut as a focal point.

I cut out the largest die in Enchanted Evening and Limeade Ice and layered them on my card base.

I popped up two white panels on either side so that the die cuts are now set back into the card.

The sentiment is from Keep It Simple: Thank You and using two of the fonts, it adds an extra bit of color as well.

Elegance and class in a flash, right?! 😉

Throwback Thursday // Mini Blooms

Hello my friends! Today is Throwback Thursday with Papertrey Ink and I can’t wait to share this week’s stamp set with you… Mini Blooms!!!

This quickly became one of my favorite sets. It was originally designed by the great Maile Belles and has her innovation and charm all over it. This set is deceptively large and gives you so many options for creating fun floral arrangements with a trendy/fresh vibe.

I paired my florals today with a background created with the Bitty Big: Soft Stone and Mix & Mat: Plaid and created a little twine wrap along two of the sides for some added whimsy.

Throwback Thursday: Phrase Play #9

Hey all! Today is Throwback Thursday with Papertrey Ink and I am so excited to show you the project I made for today. 🙂

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink throwback thursday phrase play 9

I created a card with coordinating gift box using mainly JUST the Phrase Play #9 stamp and die set. By running the die through multiple times in different colors, you create different colored snowflakes and sentiment strips with ease. I went with traditional Christmas colors but you could use any colors you’d like!!

By using the Bitty Big: Soft Stone in the large plaid, I added extra texture and interest in the gift box. And to keep things coordinated, I stamped on the card using the Soft Stone Ink as well.

I tried to make it easier to see in this picture but the “greetings” sentiment strip has a background stamped purely in Soft Stone “treats” to tie in the Soft Stone color. I also ran the card base through with the Woodgrain Metal Stencil for added texture on my card.

The “WINTER” sentiment is backed with vellum and popped up with multiple layers of foam tape. The vellum adds just enough fade so you can’t see the adhesive underneath (this helps so you don’t have to get super picky in adhesive placement). 🙂

That’s it for me today!! Do you like putting together coordinating cards and gift boxes?? I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. 🙂
