Welcome to this month’s Papertrey Ink release!! We are listening hard to all of your suggestions/opinions and we are switching things back to a version of the “old way” haha. Today I am featuring the brand new sentiment stamp set, Little Lift Me Ups as well as the new background stamp, Background Basics: Birch.

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink

My first project showcases the entire background stamp being used as a backdrop for my card. The sentiment is front and center paneled on layers of cardstock and the focal point in addition to the sentiment is the braided and knotted natural twine.

My second project is this sweet little tag! I used Soft Stone cardstock for the background and Smokey Shadow for the birch stamp. I cut and trimmed True Black and Smokey Shadow cardstock to line the top of the tag and cut up the sentiment for added interest.

The ribbon finishes the tag off – I used Aqua Mist and Smokey Shadow Twill Tape Ribbon.

And my final project adds a bit of flowery fun! I started by embossing the two outer dies from the new Mix & Mat: Plaid collection and taping off the inside. The inside is then stamped with the Birch Background stamp and removed.

I used the sweet bunch of pre-printed flowers from the Bloom & Grow mini kit and wrapped it all up in a bit of rustic twine!

Unique Holiday Gift Wrapping

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog for another Design Team Tips with Papertrey Ink. I was having such a great time getting into the holiday spirit during this month’s release that I just HAD to keep up with the festivities!! So today I am going to show you a few unique ways to wrap a gift by using fun tags, a special embellishment, and even a fun little paper piece to add tons of texture. 😉 Let’s dive in!

Monogram Tags

My first idea came by Christmas-ing the Botanical Letters stamps and dies to make the flowers look a bit like holly. I love putting initials on tags at our home since we all have different first letters, but if you have lots of one letter, try using a smaller alpha stamp and putting full initials. It’s a fun alternative to the standard “to/from” stickers from the wrapping store! 🙂

I dressed this tag up with a lot of texture by putting the letter on top of a circle cut from kraft corrugated cardstock, and then tied it up with a Big Bitty Berry Wreath Tag. And of course to finish it off, a doily folded in almost-half to add even more movement and fun.

Unexpected Embellishments

For my second idea, I used something we all have just laying around the house… a woodland creature figurine. Just kidding. But they do have some on amazon!! 🙂 And they are soooo cute too!! You could leave them as is for a fun rustic/nature look, or to give them some spice, do what I did and spray paint them with metallic gold! These are super fun and kids especially will love playing with them after opening their gifts. (And you can set them out as reindeer decor!)

The tag is made from the Simply Chartreuse Big Bitty pattern paper set and the Beautiful Berries: Winter stamps and dies. The tag and the “to/from” cutout are made from the Holiday Tag Along Mini Kit by Betsy Veldman.

Holiday Fringe & a Vintage Touch

Ok now bear with me on this one… holiday FRINGE!! I am obsessed… this may be a love it or hate it idea but I am all over it right now haha. I used Big Bitty Pure Poppy, Big Bitty Simply Chartreuse, and True Black Cardstock. Now in the past to make fringe I sit down for about 20 minutes and I tediously slice the paper over and over… but my life has officially been changed!! I was introduced to the American Crafts Fringe Scissors (there are most likely many types of these scissors out there) and this whole piece took 3 minutes tops! Each stripe is about 4 x 1.5 inches and I scored the top of each of them to give the fringe a bit more oomph. I used 0.25 in scor tape to layer these down on a piece of scrap cardstock and then I had my very own fringe paper!

To give this gift a vintage touch, I added a torn out piece of an old book in the background, used natural twine to wrap it all, and placed a lone feather in the mix just for fun. I love mixing old and new, especially on gift wrapping.

Hey there PTI loves! Today we are showcasing the gorgeous, Silver White Winters. This set is AMAZING.

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Silver White Winters Christmas Tag

Using the tag from the coordinating tag from the Berry Wreath set and a standard circle die, I created a little snowflake scene within a tag. Sort of… a shaker tag without the shaker element. 🙂

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Silver White Winters Christmas Tag

There are subtle snow wisps stamped in the background in Fine Linen ink and the snowflakes are created with white and vellum papers decorated with iridescent glitter. 🙂 Some twine, ribbon, and seam binding finish this lovely tag off.

Hey friends! Today I am back with another card to inspire you in using the Berry Wreath stamp and die set!

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Berry Wreath PTI merry and bright

I started with a Soft Stone card base and used a piece of watercolor paper to die cut the tag. I love the little bit of added texture the watercolor paper has.

After stamping, I filled in my leaves and berries with colored pencils and tied the top of the tag with red and white twine. To add more Christmas fun, I wrapped a scrunched seam binding bow on a gold clip and attached it to the top of the tag as well. The whole tag is popped up with dimensional adhesive.

Alrighty Neat and Tangled lovers! It’s the last day of reveals and we have some super fun products to share with you. 🙂 Today I am showcasing the Polygon Cover Plate and the Polygon Stencil (with a special appearance from the new Classic Tag 2 die!).

by Stephanie Gold for Neat and Tangled polygon cover plate stencil

What a cool polygon pattern, am I right?! I die cut the cover plate and layered it on top of the cut tag and then trimmed off the sides. It just looks SO COOL! I accented the tag with a sentiment from yesterday’s Flower Medallion stamp set and a couple leaves die cut with the Flower Medallion dies. I seem to be really into blues and greens this release!! haha

My next card shows a fun way to use a stencil if you ever need a fresh idea!

by Stephanie Gold for Neat and Tangled polygon cover plate stencil

I actually used a little heart punch to make the hearts and then put texture paste on the stencils for the hearts only! Doesn’t it give off such a sweet, gentle, effect??

Leave a comment on the Neat & Tangled Blog for your chance to win the Polygon Cover Plate and Stencil! There will ALSO be a $25 gift certificate drawn from all comments left on the design team blogs so be sure to leave one here, too! 🙂
