Poinsettia & Pine Mini Kit + Seasonal Borders: Winter + Penned Elegance: Christmas

Hello all and welcome to the final day of Papertrey Ink’s September countdown! How are you wishlists looking so far?! 😉

We have a MINI kit for you from Betsy Veldman to share today as well as a beautiful Christmas edition of Jennifer Campbell’s Penned Elegance. And last but definitely not least is the Winter edition of Betsy’s Seasonal Borders series. You ready?!

I’m starting off with the clean and simple Christmas card I made using one of my favorite holiday sentiments (and songs), “O Holy Night” from the Penned Elegance set.

I didn’t create the entire border on my card but simply used the accent pieces and stamps to make a beautiful pop of color with subtle background snowflakes for the perfect understated card.

As for the Poinsettia and Pine kit, I wanted to show a beautiful more masculine way to create a gift so I kept my color choices to blues and greens with a hint of Honey Nut. 🙂 The Honey Nut accent is actually a die from Lizzie’s Ornament Stitching set releasing tomorrow!

Simple and layered, this package looks classy and festive, and still took very little time to put together. I hope all of you really enjoy working with it because it makes creating gift packages during a very busy season, that much more stress free.

Well, that’s it for this release! I can not WAIT to see all the beautiful projects you create with this month’s goodies!!! And of course, don’t forget that Betsy’s annual Christmas kit is coming soon! Until next time. Much love friends.

Dashing Through the Snow // Featured Post

Today is the day!!!!! I am SO excited to share this post with all of you. Betsy Veldman has done it again with her magical creations and I have 3 different projects to share with you all showing off some of her goodies.

The first project I have for you is a 3D sleigh which I created in a vintage vibe. I used Smokey Shadow and True Black cardstock with a pop of Pure Poppy for a beautiful, old fashioned look.

One of the main things I have to mention not only about this sleigh, but also about all of the other 3D dies that Bets’ has put together, is the fact that they are exceptionally simple to put together. Do not be dismayed if you open your dies and feel a bit overwhelmed at first. Just cut out all of your pieces (even in cheap cardstock for a mock up to feel more confident first) and start bending them at their seams. You will very quickly realize how natural they feel to create.

The other thing I really wanted to point out about the sleigh in particular is the gorgeous details that Betsy has included. Use your metal shim for the delicate parts and they will cut like butter. These very simple projects look so spectacular and impressive when complete. They also take very little time so you will be sure to use them again and again throughout the holidays.

The next 3D gift project I made was the Train! I wanted to do a more childlike presentation of this one so it felt more playful… also I was inspired but my littlest’s love of trains and of course… gingerbread!

I used Pure Poppy Bitty Big and Kraft cardstock to create a gingerbread and peppermint feel and accented the train with white Puff Paint for some faux icing.

Betsy has outdone herself with all of the details and added stamps for these dies – look at that smoke stack!!

And to top this puppy off, she created a way to make it a little gift box, simply by lifting up the top of the back of the train.

Such a genius that one…

And of course, there is the pickup truck. Now I fought off every urge I had to make a 3D version of this one for you because I LOVE trucks!!!! (Pat, I see you!) But I really wanted to show you how easily these can be made flat to put on cards as well so this one’s for you guys! 😉

The little lights from Lizzie’s latest Corner Adorner set are the perfect embellishment to the bed of the truck and I filled it up with some trees from Heather’s Winter Fox stamp set.

So there you have it folks. I. Am. So. Excited. Once you get these dies, please, please, pleaseeeeeeee share what you make!!! I am way too thrilled about watching what you all have in store for these sets. 🙂

Much love all.

Words to Live By: Joyful + Bold Borders: Yuletide + Pierced Feature Frames: Oval + Corner Adorner: September

Hellooooo again dear crafty friends! I am THRILLED to finally show you this month’s Corner Adorner by my lovely lovely friend, Lizzie Jones. Christmas lights you guys… Christmas lights…

by stephanie gold for papertrey ink Words to Live By: Joyful + Bold Borders: Yuletide + Pierced Feature Frames: Oval + Corner Adorner: September

For this project I am using the old fashioned larger bulbs, which I heat embossed in gold glitter, in the larger formation… but I used this set on a different project you will see another day that showcases the smaller formation with the newer light bulbs in colors… they are just SO CUTE.

I really wanted to show off the beauty in this set so I made the background of this card in Smokey Shadow and used the Pierced Feature Frame as a subtle accent. I’m obsessed with this set.

So for another way you can all use the incredible Bold Borders series, I trimmed a piece off to layer the bottom of a tag with. Don’t be scared to move these suckers around, trim them, overlap them, and just get creative! They don’t need to be used as borders every time and I think you will really enjoy thinking out of the box with them.

The latest in Betsy Veldman’s Words to Live By series is Joyful. The fonts are adorable as usual and the sentiments are simply perfect. This series is an always must have that will brighten your stash and add something different to your sentiments on every card.

Winter Fox + Text & Texture: Wood Slices + Sending You Comfort + Hinged Gift Card Box: Christmas Window

Welcome to the second day of the Papertrey Ink September release countdown! How did you like everything we shared with you yesterday? Are you ready for even more fun and adorableness today??! (totally a word…)

by stephanie gold for papertrey ink Winter Fox + Text & Texture: Wood Slices + Sending You Comfort + Hinged Gift Card Box: Christmas Window

Starting out with Winter Fox by Heather Nichols and Text and Texture: Wood Slices by Betsy Veldman! This little fox is so. dang. cute. I was so excited to work with him! I blended a couple different colors together to get the red I really wanted for his fur and I love how he turned out.

I chose to create the wood slices in Soft Stone on Soft Stone for a really subtle texture in the back. It’s a little more prominent in person but still very soft. 🙂 And those greys… Weathervane ya’ll!

Next up is an interesting combination of a brand new sympathy stamp set called Sending You Comfort by Kimberly Crawford… and a new window die for the previously released Hinged Gift Card Box called Christmas Window, by Lizzie Jones.

I decided to create a card with these combos and I’m showcasing the “So Very Merry” sentiment die from Lizzie’s set. The other die says “From Santa” and is SO CUTE!!! You will love both of these. They will look adorable on tags too!!! Not just cards and gift boxes! So definitely don’t write this one off if you don’t have the coordinating box die yet.

Say it Simply: You & Yours + Sweet Stitching

Well helloooooooooo there crafty friends! Today is the kickoff of Papertrey Ink’s September release countdown and boy oh boyyyyyyy do we have a lineup for you this month!! I am SO excited to show you all we have in store for you, but today just a few items. 😉

stephanie gold for papertrey ink say it simply you and yours sweet stitching

The lovely Dawn McVey designed the products I’m showcasing for you today starting with the incredible, Sweet Stitching stamp set and impression plate. I stamped my card base first in five different colors creating a little pattern and then ran it through my Vagabond with the impression plate afterwords.

The sentiment is the latest in Dawn’s series, Say it Simply, and this one is called You & Yours. I cut mine from 4 pieces of Soft Stone cardstock and layered them to create a chipboard effect. I love the light and airy feel this card finished with.
