Beautiful Brushstrokes Continued

image

Hi there! I have a couple more cards to show you today using Papertrey Ink’s Beautiful Brushstrokes kit (I’m a little obsessed). The first card (above) I tried to make as flat as I could so it would be an easy
mailer. The black polka dot background is one of the pattern papers from
the kit and the flower and hello sentiment was stamped using the
included stamp sets (yes, multiple stamp sets… seriously love this
kit).

For the second card I made (below), I stamped the leaves onto a piece of canvas paper and attached it to my card base. I put a few pieces of the polka washi tape in the center and adhered the stamped sentiment on top using dimensional adhesive.

I tried to keep each of these cards pretty simple and I liked how they turned out!

DIY Pattern Paper

Hi all! Today I have a card that I made with the Beautiful Brushstrokes kit from Papertrey Ink! This card was inspired by PTI designer Danielle Flanders – I LOVE her style!! I don’t use tiny stamps very often but I was in love with these tiny 2-step flower/leaf stamps in this kit and decided to make my own simple pattern paper!

image

All I did was stamp the card base here and there with the stamps – you could do this with any stamp at all (not just tiny ones) and make the paper as busy or as simple as you want. I topped the paper with a large vellum banner and a chopped doily and adhered the stamped sentiment on top. I finished it off with some ombre hemp twine (also from the kit) and I was done!

Hope you all have a wonderfully crafty weekend! Yay for Fridays! 🙂

Fiskars Hexagon Punch

Good morning!! It’s lovely and rainy here and I am happily enjoying some Christmas music while my son and I play. He loves pretending to be Santa Claus and fills up all of our stockings for us with lots of little trains and puppy toys. 🙂

I have a couple fun cards for you today made with a new (to me) Fiskars hexagon punch I have. I put these cards together using a couple of older Studio Calico Card Kits and a frame die from Papertrey Ink.

For the first card I stuck with the greens and yellow color tones and punched the hexagons out of multiple different pattern papers and cardstock.

For the second card I stamped the sentiment onto all of the gray hexagons for a fun tiled look. 🙂

Beautiful Brushstrokes

Hi everyone! Today I have a card for you that I made with the Papertrey Ink Beautiful Brushstrokes Make It Market Kit.

image

I used a horizontal cover plate die to make the background and literally everything else on the card is from the kit. The idea was that these stamps give a watercolored feel but I have seen a lot of people putting watercolor paint directly on their stamps as well – so cool! These kits aren’t for sale any more but they currently have a couple others… check them out here.

Have a wonderful week!!

Oh, Hi

Hi again! Today I have a quick little card that I put together using the Studio Calico Lemonlush printables. I thought the colors in the Lemonlush set were so much fun I had to get those printable shapes.

image

The stripes are die cut from a teal blue cardstock and the butterfly is die cut from vellum. Both dies are from Papertrey Ink. I tried to keep the entire card feeling very light.
