Watercolor Love Card

goldensimplicity.com

Hey guys! My kids and I were watercolor painting the other day and I decided to make a couple backgrounds for cards too! It was so much fun doing this along side of my little ones. I made a few different designs, but today’s card uses a simple yellow watercolor base. It’s hard to see the different depths of color in the photos but there are apparent “swoosh” marks when you see it in person… that wasn’t too vague was it?! Haha. I used Papertrey Ink’s love die on top and stamped some PTI Rosie Posie flowers for the bottom right. I finished off the card with a seam binding bow and a little scrap pievce of pink cardstock underneath. I attached it to a kraft cardstock card base. And there you have it! A watercolor love card. 🙂

Grateful Card

goldensimplicity.com

Hey there friends! I put together a couple grateful cards to send out thanks for some awesome volunteers that I work with at our church. I wanted the cards to be very happy and colorful and fun, so I started with this floral background stamp. I used a few different colors and rock n’ rolled them together to create a blended look. I made a couple different versions of the same card.

I die cut some butterflies out of white cardstock and vellum with Papertrey Ink’s Life Is Beautiful die set and accented them with a few enamel dots.

The sentiment is stamped in black with Mama Elephant’s Many Thanks stamp set and is popped up with a bit of dimensional adhesive.

Why don’t we all give out a grateful card today? 🙂 Have a great week everyone!

Thank You

Hello everyone! The card I have for you today was inspired (and created with) a Project Life wood veneer card. This adorable chevron wood veneer piece came in one of Studio Calico’s kits and I instantly fell in love. I used white Mr. Huey’s to wash out the color a bit, but it warped when it got wet so I put it underneath a few super heavy books overnight to even it back out.

I used Papertrey Ink’s Delicate Details & Embellished Elegance dies to create the leaves and the sentiment piece in the center. The idea for this card was to really keep it light and white.

Hello

Hello, hello! Can you believe we are already at the end of August?? I always feel like August is one of the fastest months to fly by because of the newly starting school year (here in Arizona our school year starts the first week of August). So today I have a fun summery card to finish out the month. I am using regular ephemera, floral ephemera, and pattern paper from Maggie Holmes Open Book collection as well as a hello stamp from Papertrey Ink’s Wet Paint stamp set. The twine wrapped around the top is from a Studio Calico add-on kit.

Doesn’t the top kind of remind you of a fun summer hippie headband??

Hoping you all have a great week and a fresh start in September! Cross your fingers for cooler weather, friends. Who’s ready for fall?!

Back to School

It’s that time of year again! My little Abbey is heading back to school, but this year she is officially a Kindergartener. (Eeeeek!) Her Kindergarten is part of the same Montessori school where she went to preschool so we know the teachers and assistants pretty well which is fun. I decided to make a few of them little welcome back cards to hopefully brighten their days as they start this new year.

I made them all pretty similar and just switched a detail a bit here and there. The pattern papers are from Echo Park Paper Co. and the stamps are from Papertrey Ink. I also used one of my favorite new tools, the Tiny Attacher. (LOVE that stapler.)

Hoping your back to school processes are going smoothly! Have a great week!
