It’s time for another fantastic Papertrey Ink release and today I just couldn’t help myself… I went all sorts of patriotic and I had a blast doing it. It’s not often that I get to work with stamp sets like “Land That I Love” by Heather Nichols and it was truly a special treat.

The sentiments and pretty graphics in this set just brought out so much pride in my country and I basically exploded in red, white, and blue haha. I know multiple brave men who serve our country in the military and I am thankful for every man and woman who stand for us.

Ok back to the crafting haha. I replaced all of the little pop outs in my blue die cut with red ones for this card. But I saved that red piece I cut and used it for my next card. These “Mix & Mat: Pretty Brackets” dies are really beautiful.

For my card I used that red piece and turned it into a flag. I layered white stripe die cuts underneath to add even more reminiscent features from our USA flag.

This card might be my favorite. I stamped Soft Stone ink on top of Soft Stone cardstock for a subtle graphic look. The Pretty Brackets card base was created by trimming a typical A2 sized card so it fit perfectly behind the die cut without anything peeking out.

The red and blue bakers twine give the finished touch with that wonderful sentiment.

Working with the new Currently Set I created a reverse dashboard in the back of my journal and created a vellum divider to separate some of the goodies I have packed in it.

Heather did a really incredible job coming up with all of the words for the Currently Stamp Set. There is something in there for any occasion. I used multiple of the stamps throughout my book. To finish off the vellum divider, I added a tab from the previously released Accessories Collection.

Happy Thursday! I am joining a few of the other ladies from the Papertrey Ink Design Team today and we are revisiting a fun set with coordinating die called Simply Framed for this week’s Throwback Thursday!

Simply Framed Stamp SetPapertrey Ink - Simply Framed Die

There are so many different elements to this set – I’m in love! Here are a couple brand new cards I made with these products:

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Simply Framed

For the first card I created an inverse frame with Berry Sorbet cardstock.

I started by stamping the grid pattern all over it to give it a bit of texture before layering it underneath the cutout. Here’s a closeup:

I also added the “live” and “love” from the new Sun & Moon stamp set.

Supplies:

STAMPS: Simply Framed, Sun & Moon
INK: Black, Berry Sorbet, Tropical Teal, Enchanted Evening
PAPER: Stampers Select White Cardstock, Berry Sorbet Cardstock
DIES: Simply Framed
OTHER: Natural Twine

For the second card I kept it really simple and used the cutout frame from the first card to create this one.

I overlapped a few of the different labels that come in the set in multiple colors and accented them with coordinating enamel dots. I think it turned out so fun and graphic!

Supplies:

INK: Fine Linen, Enchanted Evening, Tropical Teal, Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush
PAPER: Stampers Select White Cardstock
DIES: Simply Framed
OTHER: White Twine, Enamel Dots

Hey everyone! It’s the beginning of new releases at Papertrey Ink and today I have a featured post for you showcasing the latest from the Ways To Say series: Sympathy.

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink ways to say sympathy card

I started by heat embossing my sentiment onto vellum in black powder. I stamped an additional sentiment over and over onto a die cut butterfly to create some texture and add color. To create a two-tone look, I layered a white die cut over kraft cardstock with dimensional adhesive.

To prevent warping when heat embossing vellum, let your heat gun get really hot for about 30 seconds before you start embossing. This will help limit the time it takes to melt the embossing powder.

Supplies:

Stamps: Ways To Say: Sympathy
Ink: Versamark, New Leaf, Hibiscus Burst, Bright Buttercup
Paper: White, Hibiscus Burst Cardstock, Kraft Cardstock, Vellum
Dies: Horizontal Stripes Cover Plate, Life is Beautiful Dies
Other: Natural Twine, Black Embossing Powder

//

For sympathy cards, I tend to lean towards nature themed, monotones, and ultra simplistic designs. My next card shows off a bit of each of those.

To create texture without bulk, dry embossing is a great technique as well. Here I used an embossing folder directly onto the card base and layered on top it. To add even more interest, I stamped an additional sentiment right on top of my stamped flower.

Stamps: Ways To Say: Sympathy, Gran’s Garden
Ink: Smokey Shadow
Paper: Stampers Select White, Enchanted Evening
Dies: With Sympathy, Gran’s Garden Dies
Others: Floral Embossing Folder

And finally, a gold embossed frame with black and gold embossed flowers. There is something about the sentiment at the bottom of this card that feels so genuine to me. I don’t know if it’s because it’s something I would naturally say or what, but I really love it.

After die cutting the fun frames die, I rubbed Versamark directly onto the cut piece and then embossed the entire thing. This is a great alternative if you don’t happen to have a color you would prefer in cardstock.

Supplies:

Stamps: Ways To Say: Sympathy, Beautiful Brushstrokes
Ink: Versamark, Black
Paper: Stampers Select White
Dies: Beautiful Brushstrokes, Fun Frames Dies
Other: Gold Embossing Powder, Black Embossing Powder, White String Twine

Well that’s it for me today! I hope you enjoyed my projects as well as the new products released! Have a wonderful day!

Hey friends! Steph here with another monthly Traveler’s Journal Feature with Papertrey Ink. Today we are showcasing a brand new die collection called Traveler’s Journal: Accessories. I am building onto the album I started in last month’s feature – if you are interested in that post, you can find it here. πŸ™‚

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Travelers Journal Notebook

The great selection of shapes and sizes and truly makes this die collection versatile and a must have. I went back in with the album I am creating as a gift and added to many of the pages I had already put together. In addition, I used the dies to make even more pages for this album.

I LOVE how easy these dies make it to add pattern and specialty papers to your albums.

And this frame!!! Eek!! I can never have enough frame dies but this one is perfect to use as a subtle accent as well as to frame a photo. πŸ™‚

I hole punched through an entire page of my album to string together a couple of these fun tags.

And finally, here is this awesome pocket die – which I am exceptionally happy about because I am always trying to make pockets and this worked sooooo much easier. πŸ™‚
