Welcome to Day 1 of Papertrey Ink’s Release Week Countdown! We have some really great things in store for you so make sure you stop by the Papertrey Team Blog to see it all! 😉
Today we are introducing Fiesta Flag: Birthday along with Stencil Basics: Diamonds.
I used Texture Paste to create the white embossed diamond background on the card and featured bright colors to create the birthday scene on top.
The flag I made was inspired by this pin HERE.
We are also introducing the new Hinged Gift Card Box as well as the latest Quoted: Friendship sets.
The tag is made using one of the dies from the gift box set with the sentiment from the Quoted stamp set on the back.
The box is die cut from Raspberry Fizz cardstock and stamped with the stripes from the Quoted stamp set for a fun striped look.
Be sure to check us out all week for more info on the upcoming January release which is live on the Papertrey web site January 15th at 10PM ET. And join Lizzie, Julie and I on our FB Release Party Live right before on the 15th at 9PM ET. Much love all!
Hey friends! It’s the first Travelers Journal post of the New Year but the last of the Papertrey season! Today we are talking about how to use sketches in your travelers notebooks. 🙂
Above you see 6 different sketches that you can use for your Papertrey travelers journals. For my first layout I chose the middle-left one.
I used the left page to decorate and have a little fun with, and the right side for my image, title, and any journaling I wanted to add.
Sketches can be interpreted in so many different ways and are a great technique to use when you are just getting started, need a little inspiration, or even if you are dying to finish an album in a short amount of time.
My second layout uses the bottom-right sketch.
I actually sliced my photo on the left into fours to add a bit of a mosaic/tiled feel while still using just one image.
And then the right side of my layout is used for decoration, title, and journaling.
These are just two examples but you could honestly make an entire mini album or travelers journal based on these 6 sketches alone!!! And don’t be afraid to use your own previous layouts as inspiration for new layouts you will be creating. Your very own sketch inspirations. 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by! Can’t wait to share this month’s Papertrey release with you all! 😉
Hey all! Today is Throwback Thursday with Papertrey Ink and I am so excited to show you the project I made for today. 🙂
I created a card with coordinating gift box using mainly JUST the Phrase Play #9 stamp and die set. By running the die through multiple times in different colors, you create different colored snowflakes and sentiment strips with ease. I went with traditional Christmas colors but you could use any colors you’d like!!
By using the Bitty Big: Soft Stone in the large plaid, I added extra texture and interest in the gift box. And to keep things coordinated, I stamped on the card using the Soft Stone Ink as well.
I tried to make it easier to see in this picture but the “greetings” sentiment strip has a background stamped purely in Soft Stone “treats” to tie in the Soft Stone color. I also ran the card base through with the Woodgrain Metal Stencil for added texture on my card.
The “WINTER” sentiment is backed with vellum and popped up with multiple layers of foam tape. The vellum adds just enough fade so you can’t see the adhesive underneath (this helps so you don’t have to get super picky in adhesive placement). 🙂
That’s it for me today!! Do you like putting together coordinating cards and gift boxes?? I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. 🙂

I created this light and airy Christmas card by first adding texture to the card base using the Lil Inker Designs Stitched Quatrefoil Cover Up Die. Next I added a piece of vellum with the “NOEL” (from the Filled Christmas Tree Stamps) stamped repeatedly across it in cream. I used my Tiny Attacher to adhere the vellum so it would flow at the bottom.
The main sentiment is from the All The Christmas You’ll Ever Need 2 set.
The card is finished off with some Natural Twine and red and white striped curling ribbon (from the Papertrey Ink Wonderland Kit).
It’s not a party without a prize – and with prizes every day there are several chances to win! Today’s prize is generously supplied by [sponsor’s name] so you’ll definitely want to win! Simply leave a comment on this post – then head back to taheerah-atchia.com

Today we are showcasing the latest Keep It Simple… Brighter Days as well as this adorable new set, Stuck On You. I used the brighter days stamp to create little corners in the top left and bottom right of my card base and layered some vellum over top for a softer effect.
The hearts are die cut with felt and the band aid (SOOOO CUTE!!!!) is created with white and melon berry cardstock. The xoxo die is cut through Bitty Big: True Black.
