Poinsettia & Pine Mini Kit + Seasonal Borders: Winter + Penned Elegance: Christmas

Hello all and welcome to the final day of Papertrey Ink’s September countdown! How are you wishlists looking so far?! 😉

We have a MINI kit for you from Betsy Veldman to share today as well as a beautiful Christmas edition of Jennifer Campbell’s Penned Elegance. And last but definitely not least is the Winter edition of Betsy’s Seasonal Borders series. You ready?!

I’m starting off with the clean and simple Christmas card I made using one of my favorite holiday sentiments (and songs), “O Holy Night” from the Penned Elegance set.

I didn’t create the entire border on my card but simply used the accent pieces and stamps to make a beautiful pop of color with subtle background snowflakes for the perfect understated card.

As for the Poinsettia and Pine kit, I wanted to show a beautiful more masculine way to create a gift so I kept my color choices to blues and greens with a hint of Honey Nut. 🙂 The Honey Nut accent is actually a die from Lizzie’s Ornament Stitching set releasing tomorrow!

Simple and layered, this package looks classy and festive, and still took very little time to put together. I hope all of you really enjoy working with it because it makes creating gift packages during a very busy season, that much more stress free.

Well, that’s it for this release! I can not WAIT to see all the beautiful projects you create with this month’s goodies!!! And of course, don’t forget that Betsy’s annual Christmas kit is coming soon! Until next time. Much love friends.

Xo, Stephanie

Botanical Bounty 2

by stephanie gold for papertrey ink botanical bounty 2

Welcome welcome! Today for Papertrey Ink’s release we are talking all about the second edition of Jennifer Campbell’s gorgeous floral collection, Botanical Bounty 2.

by stephanie gold for papertrey ink botanical bounty 2

Jennifer has done it again and made even more beautiful flowers. For this rainbow card I used some additional ink on a paintbrush and made some outlines around the edges for a more distinct detail.

by stephanie gold for papertrey ink botanical bounty 2

And who doesn’t love a good rainbow???

by stephanie gold for papertrey ink botanical bounty 2

A good tip for this technique is to use an ink color two shades darker than your flower for the outline color.

You all know I am all about the light and airy cards. For this one I used my favorite technique of spraying the ink on the stamp before pressing it to the paper. It gives such a soft look and blends ink colors seamlessly.

For a fun added detail, I punched small holes around the bottom of my floral bunch and tied twine through them. I thought it turned out so cute!

That pattern strip in the background is the newest Bitty Big, Tropical Teal.

For my final project I really want to show off all the stamps together. I used a wholeeeeee bunch of different ones from the set in coordinating colors to create this beautiful background.

The tag is made from Harvest Gold Bitty Big and the background color is in Berry Sorbet. It adds such a nice pop of color for a truly springy card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have enjoyed everything I created today! Much love all.

Botanical Bounty + Bold Borders Flare

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink botanical bounty sentiment staples congratulations bold borders flare

Today I have a card for you showing off the newest set from Jennifer Campbell, Botanical Bounty, as well as the latest in the Bold Borders series from Lizzie Jones, Flare.

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink botanical bounty sentiment staples congratulations bold borders flare

I combined a couple of the strips from the bold borders to create one solid block to use as a design accent. I LOVE how it turned out… don’t you just love when your ideas translate?? Almost never happens… haha

The flower is created using one of my favorite techniques, inking up your stamp and spritzing with water before impressing. For this flower I combined New Leaf, Green Parakeet, Summer Sunrise, and Lemon Tart. The sentiment is from Lizzie’s Sentiment Staples Congratulations set. 🙂
