I used glossy accents all over this Spiderweb to make it have a thick, glossy, fun texture. The circle pattern at the top is created with the Batty Bundle stamp set.

The green cable box is accented with a Halloween Word Tag Die and a spider from the Spiderweb Greetings Die Set. It also uses a piece of pattern paper from the Super Kids Paper Pack which was die cut with a Wonky Rectangle Die.

Happy Lil Inker New Release Day!!! You should have arrived here from the beautiful Karen Baker’s blog. Laura has some INCREDIBLE Halloween goodies for you and I have been having a total blast making fun little holiday cards and crafts!!! First are these two little pillow boxes that I created using the Halloween Word Tag Dies, Tombstone Peek-a-boo Die Set, and the Batty Hugger Die and Stamp Bundle. Aren’t they adorable?! And the one on the left has a fun added perk to it… I die cut it with the Tombstone Peek-a-boo die so it turned into a tiny little CANDY COFFIN!!!!!

My next project is all about that Batty Set! πŸ˜‰

by Stephanie Gold for Lil Inker Designs Batty Hugger Bundle Bat Halloween Card Golden Simplicity #cardmaking #lilinker #goldensimplicity #stephaniegold

I cut out the bat from a piece of black cardstock and turned the cutout into a card, and the bat into a pencil decoration!

The bat needed a little extra pizzazz so I used Wink of Stella to outline the bat and then a black pen to accent the white part of him. I stamped his sweet little batty vampire face and an inside sentiment using a couple of the stamps in the set.

For the pencil decoration I used gold pigment ink to stamp the “batty for you” sentiment on the black bat and added some black and sparkle orange ribbon and an orange clothespin to finish it off.

So funny story… I couldn’t find any Halloween pencils in stores when I was putting this project together so I ended up using a broad chisel tipped Sharpie to color a regular pencil black ha! It worked out surprisingly well too!

Happy almost Halloween my friends! I LOVE this time of year. Not only is the weather finally cooling down a bit, but hanging up spooky decorations, carving pumpkins, and making (or picking out) costumes with my little ones is too fun! Unfortunately I sometimes find myself getting swept up in all the preparations that I forget doing one of my favorite things… making little holiday crafts with my kids that they can pass out to their friends at school.

So I came up with 3 super easy and simple Halloween kids crafts that are perfect for the last minute and won’t have you breaking the bank for supplies or learning complicated techniques. Whether you are a super crafter who is in the midst of an idea brainstorm, or someone who has yet to ever pick up a glue stick, these 3 crafts will be sure to get you where you need to go! πŸ™‚ Please forgive the photos, my camera was glitching today. Let’s get started!

Easy Halloween Kids Crafts

Halloween Kids Craft #1: Ghost Pops

You may have seen a lollipop wrapped up as as something along the way (superhero, snowman, etc.) but this ghost version is probably the easiest one.

Supplies:

  • Lollipops
  • 5x5in white fabric squares or tissue paper
  • Ribbon (any color)
  • Googly Eyes (optional)
  • Black Marker
  • Glue
  • Scissors

How To:

Wrap the fabric or tissue paper square around the lollipop.

Tie the ribbon around the lollipop into a knot.

Draw on the eyes with a black marker or glue on the googly eyes.

I finished off the craft by tying a little tag onto it that I cut out of paper, but you don’t have to add this part. This is a good place to put “From, (insert child’s name)” if they wanted to. I also curled the ribbon. πŸ™‚ Here is the finished craft:

Halloween Kids Craft #2: Witch Hat Bookmarks

Another use for a good ol’ popsicle stick! Man I love these things…

Supplies:

  • Black marker
  • Pencil
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Popsicle sticks (large or small)
  • Purple cardstock or construction paper
  • Black cardstock or construction paper

How To:

Draw an outline of a witch’s hat onto the black cardstock.

Cut out the witch’s hat.

Cut a strip of the purple cardstock and glue it onto the witch’s hat. Cut the sides so they line up with the edges of the hat.

Glue the witch’s hat onto the popsicle stick.

Let it dry and you can write your child’s name on the back of the popsicle stick. You can get crafty and decorate the hat more if you wish too. πŸ™‚

Halloween Kids Craft #3: Jack O Lantern Masks

If you can cut out a face from a pumpkin, you can make these masks.

Supplies:

  • Orange cardstock or construction paper
  • Hole punch
  • Pencil
  • Black marker
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon (not pictured)

How To:

Draw an outline of a Jack O Lantern (without it’s mouth) onto the orange cardstock.

Cut it out.

Using your black marker, draw a black line around the eyes, nose, and the outline of the entire mask. Draw additional lines to add aΒ  little character to your pumpkin.

Punch one hole on each side of the mask and cut 2 pieces of ribbon approximately 6in each.

Tie one ribbon in each hole. You will loosely tie these in a bow behind the child’s head when they are ready to wear the mask.

Happy Tuesday all! This is the last week for Halloween posts and I can’t wait for Thursday! My daughter decided she wants to be a cat and she is just the cutest little cat there is! (Of course, I am a bit biased!) My son may or may not be dressing up… he is still a baby so we will see if he’s up for it πŸ™‚ Now onto the cards!

The first card I have for you is a scary pumpkin silhouette card. It’s really fun in person because when you walk past it, the metallic orange under the pumpkin follows you a bit. My daughter loves this one. πŸ™‚ >>

I made this card by first die cutting the pumpkin from chalkboard black paper (from one of the past Studio Calico card kits) and rounding out the corners of the negative piece. I adhered a piece of the metallic orange paper behind the black and adhered the whole thing to the card base. I attached the actual pumpkin that got cut out with dimensional adhesive and a bit off center to where it was originally cut. Next, I attached a trimmed piece of the β€œ+” patterned paper (also from a past Studio Calico card kit) as well as a trimmed and rounded piece of gray paper. My sentiment sticker is placed on top and I finished the card off with some clear gems that I tinted orange a bit with ink. What do you think?

Here is the next one >>

I wanted this one to be a little more cute than scary so I picked out some fun patterned papers in orange and black and die cut the letters for β€œHappy Halloween.” I adhered them to my kraft card base with a glue pen and then wrapped twine with a piece of star ribbon on the opposite end. That’s it!

Halloween can be such a fun holiday and I hope you have been able to create some great cards, crafts, and memories this year! Have a safe night trick-or-treating!
