Hey everyone! It’s the beginning of new releases at Papertrey Ink and today I have a featured post for you showcasing the latest from the Ways To Say series: Sympathy.

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink ways to say sympathy card

I started by heat embossing my sentiment onto vellum in black powder. I stamped an additional sentiment over and over onto a die cut butterfly to create some texture and add color. To create a two-tone look, I layered a white die cut over kraft cardstock with dimensional adhesive.

To prevent warping when heat embossing vellum, let your heat gun get really hot for about 30 seconds before you start embossing. This will help limit the time it takes to melt the embossing powder.

Supplies:

Stamps: Ways To Say: Sympathy
Ink: Versamark, New Leaf, Hibiscus Burst, Bright Buttercup
Paper: White, Hibiscus Burst Cardstock, Kraft Cardstock, Vellum
Dies: Horizontal Stripes Cover Plate, Life is Beautiful Dies
Other: Natural Twine, Black Embossing Powder

For sympathy cards, I tend to lean towards nature themed, monotones, and ultra simplistic designs. My next card shows off a bit of each of those.

To create texture without bulk, dry embossing is a great technique as well. Here I used an embossing folder directly onto the card base and layered on top it. To add even more interest, I stamped an additional sentiment right on top of my stamped flower.

And finally, a gold embossed frame with black and gold embossed flowers. There is something about the sentiment at the bottom of this card that feels so genuine to me. I don’t know if it’s because it’s something I would naturally say or what, but I really love it.

After die cutting the fun frames die, I rubbed Versamark directly onto the cut piece and then embossed the entire thing. This is a great alternative if you don’t happen to have a color you would prefer in cardstock.

Alright friends, today is the final day of extra inspiration from our latest release at Papertrey. I have one last project to show you which used the Butterfly Hope stamp and die sets and I really hope you enjoy it. πŸ™‚

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Butterfly Hope Fun Frames

This card design was inspired by some recent events going on. I was feeling a bit discouraged and disappointed in myself and I felt like those little faded grey butterflies. I decided to change my outlook on the situation I was in and I was determined to create a happier, more hopeful perspective… I chose to feel like that joyful, colorful butterfly. πŸ™‚ Although difficult at the time, making this card made me feel so much better!

Day 3 of More March Release Projects and I have a couple of cute treat boxes to share with you today! I am showcasing the So Sweet stamp/die set and the Carrot Treat Boxes one more time. πŸ™‚

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Carrot Treat Box So Sweet

I created two very different boxes by stamping with white onto kraft cardstock for one of them and stamping with Plum Pudding ink onto Plum Pudding cardstock for the other. I created a vellum window in one of the boxes and left the other one whole. I also made two very different tags to go with them and this was all with just the So Sweet stamp set and the Carrot Treat box dies!!! Can you imagine how many VERY different projects you could create with these??? I’m in awe over these sets.

Hello again and welcome back for another day filled with inspiration for you, this time focusing on the Shadowed Sentiments set! Remember that all of these new products are officially for sale NOW so head on over to the shop as soon as you’re done. πŸ™‚

I have one card for you using this set and I have a super feminine style so I decided to girly it up a bit by adding some florals and spring colors.

I used Limeade Ice ink to stamp the 2 shadow sentiments, leaving the interior of the “hello” white. There are actually a surprising amount of combinations in which you can use this set, which is a fun and pleasant surprise!!

The white panel in the center was created using the larger die from the Fun Frames set and I created the stitched border on Limeade Ice cardstock using the previously released Stitched Cover Plate.
