Warm & Fuzzy + Sentiment Staples: Season’s Greetings + Corner Adorner: October + Shape Shifters: Square 3

Welcome to day 2 of Papertrey Ink’s October release!! Today’s products are some of my favorite series that are released each month and I hope I show you why!

Starting off with Corner Adorner: October which has quickly become one of my all time favorite series. This month has a beautiful bow with bells and the sweet and simple “Deck the halls” sentiment.

I created a block in the background of my card using the Sentiment Staples set. The card is finished off with a few black paint splatters.

Warm and Fuzzy is the sweet and cozy stamp set that’s out this month and it comes with many options for different socks and mittens you can put together. I paired mine with the embossing die from Betsy’s Shape Shifters Square 3 this month which I used to create an argyle pattern.

Thanks so much for stopping by! See you tomorrow!

Dashing Through the Snow // Featured Post

Today is the day!!!!! I am SO excited to share this post with all of you. Betsy Veldman has done it again with her magical creations and I have 3 different projects to share with you all showing off some of her goodies.

The first project I have for you is a 3D sleigh which I created in a vintage vibe. I used Smokey Shadow and True Black cardstock with a pop of Pure Poppy for a beautiful, old fashioned look.

One of the main things I have to mention not only about this sleigh, but also about all of the other 3D dies that Bets’ has put together, is the fact that they are exceptionally simple to put together. Do not be dismayed if you open your dies and feel a bit overwhelmed at first. Just cut out all of your pieces (even in cheap cardstock for a mock up to feel more confident first) and start bending them at their seams. You will very quickly realize how natural they feel to create.

The other thing I really wanted to point out about the sleigh in particular is the gorgeous details that Betsy has included. Use your metal shim for the delicate parts and they will cut like butter. These very simple projects look so spectacular and impressive when complete. They also take very little time so you will be sure to use them again and again throughout the holidays.

The next 3D gift project I made was the Train! I wanted to do a more childlike presentation of this one so it felt more playful… also I was inspired but my littlest’s love of trains and of course… gingerbread!

I used Pure Poppy Bitty Big and Kraft cardstock to create a gingerbread and peppermint feel and accented the train with white Puff Paint for some faux icing.

Betsy has outdone herself with all of the details and added stamps for these dies – look at that smoke stack!!

And to top this puppy off, she created a way to make it a little gift box, simply by lifting up the top of the back of the train.

Such a genius that one…

And of course, there is the pickup truck. Now I fought off every urge I had to make a 3D version of this one for you because I LOVE trucks!!!! (Pat, I see you!) But I really wanted to show you how easily these can be made flat to put on cards as well so this one’s for you guys! 😉

The little lights from Lizzie’s latest Corner Adorner set are the perfect embellishment to the bed of the truck and I filled it up with some trees from Heather’s Winter Fox stamp set.

So there you have it folks. I. Am. So. Excited. Once you get these dies, please, please, pleaseeeeeeee share what you make!!! I am way too thrilled about watching what you all have in store for these sets. 🙂

Much love all.

Words to Live By: Joyful + Bold Borders: Yuletide + Pierced Feature Frames: Oval + Corner Adorner: September

Hellooooo again dear crafty friends! I am THRILLED to finally show you this month’s Corner Adorner by my lovely lovely friend, Lizzie Jones. Christmas lights you guys… Christmas lights…

by stephanie gold for papertrey ink Words to Live By: Joyful + Bold Borders: Yuletide + Pierced Feature Frames: Oval + Corner Adorner: September

For this project I am using the old fashioned larger bulbs, which I heat embossed in gold glitter, in the larger formation… but I used this set on a different project you will see another day that showcases the smaller formation with the newer light bulbs in colors… they are just SO CUTE.

I really wanted to show off the beauty in this set so I made the background of this card in Smokey Shadow and used the Pierced Feature Frame as a subtle accent. I’m obsessed with this set.

So for another way you can all use the incredible Bold Borders series, I trimmed a piece off to layer the bottom of a tag with. Don’t be scared to move these suckers around, trim them, overlap them, and just get creative! They don’t need to be used as borders every time and I think you will really enjoy thinking out of the box with them.

The latest in Betsy Veldman’s Words to Live By series is Joyful. The fonts are adorable as usual and the sentiments are simply perfect. This series is an always must have that will brighten your stash and add something different to your sentiments on every card.

Corner Adorner July // Papertrey Ink July Release

Hey all! Welcome to the kick off of Papertrey Ink’s July Release!! Today I am showcasing the latest in my lovely friend Lizzie Jones’ series, Corner Adorner. And you need this one. Seriously.

by stephanie gold for papertrey ink corner adorner july by lizzie jones

So instead of using these gorgeous stamps for their intended use, I decided to create a fun and unexpected focal point in the center of my card. By using only two corners for the focal point I completed the look by stamping the sentiment on the other two sides.

The blues were colored in using pencils and I placed the whole thing on Dark Indigo cardstock. I adore the unique look it ended up with. 🙂

Corner Adorner: June + Bold Borders: Wave + Sentiment Staples: Sending You

Good morning all! Today we have three more wonderful continuations of Lizzie Jones’ super fun series’… Bold Borders, Sentiment Staples, and Corner Adorner!

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Bold Borders wave corner adorner wave lizzie jones

To make my first project I combined two of the corners and made them into a new fun shape that is almost a bit ornate!

I used the Woodgrain stencil to create the texture in the background and of course added a little twine… a la me. 😉

As for Bold Borders, I really wanted to show off the sunshine aspect in this sentiment so I used three different yellow cardstock colors to create a happy sunny vibe under my bright white Bold Borders die cut. The butterfly is from Heather’s Travelers Journal stamp set, Field Notes!
