Helloooooooooo!!!!! Are you ready to make some friends into new stampers?? Well get ready for the ultimate gift for a newbie card maker! Betsy has put together the essentials for anyone who is interested in learning to make cards and she did it in typical Betsy fashion… beautifully.

But not only did Bets put together a kit, she is also making the stamp set available for purchase separately AND you can buy a coordinating die set separately as well.

Let’s dive into the projects already!

My first card is showing off how you can use just the stamps and the dies if you don’t get the full kit. I created a little rainbow of candles alongside the right edge and accented them with some popped up balloons. πŸ™‚

Some black and white twine is the perfect way to tie in the black from the sentiment.

And now for a fun way to use the kit contents!

I put together two variations of the same card to show you how you can easily take what you made using this beginner’s kit, and move it into different products you either have already, or may be interested in buying.

This first card is nothing but kit. I stamped the flowers out using colors you receive with the kit, placed them on top of one of the pattern papers, and accented the card with some included sequins. Beautiful right? And so simple! (If there are uber beginners out there who would like a step by step for this card, let me know!)

So now that you have made a beautiful card that you are proud of (and should be!!), make it again! But switch just a couple details up. You already have the confidence to make a card you know is attractive, so try some different colors! Try a pattern paper instead of a solid. Add in a piece of colored cardstock like this gorgeous new grey (DID YOU SEE THE NAME ANNOUNCEMENT YET?! I’m obsessed…).

By taking one design that you already know works and changing it up ever so slightly here and there, you will get a ton of practice creating. You will begin mastering stamping a bit and gain even more confidence in your abilities. Once you are satisfied, move on to another design and do it again! Not only will you be a pro card maker in no time, but you will also have a nice stash of cards on hand to reach for when you need one. πŸ™‚

Hello again! It’s Day 2 of Papertrey Ink’s April release and we have more fun Betsy Veldman goodies for you today! Introducing Fence Line Spring and Noted Simply Stitched dies.

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink fence line spring noted simply stitched dies

I had to pair this adorable fence with the Farmers Market Florals in at least one card today, aren’t they just perfect for each other?!

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink fence line spring noted simply stitched dies

The Noted dies are perfect for adding some structure to a uniquely shaped card as well.

My next project was really fun… I created an arbor by using two of the fences (or cutting one in half depending on the size you want) with a trimmed Gatsby Glamour frame. I wanted to create an outdoor wedding scene but it would be fun to use this idea to create a garden scene as well!

The sentiment and banner are from the previously released Choose Joy stamp set.

My first project is showcasing Betsy Veldman’s new sets… Geode Layer Dies and Text and Texture Agate stamps. This particular card was so fun to put together because my sweet daughter LOVES collecting “special” rocks. We can’t take this girl anywhere without her finding something cool on the ground and her begging to take it home to wash it. She’s just the cutest.

My color inspiration came from this image I found on Pinterest…

I used little bits from the Shaker and Sprinkles kit to create the crystals in the center. πŸ™‚

My next project is showing off the latest from Lizzie Jones… her monthly Glorious Globes April as well as Sentiment Staples Congratulations.

I took this set in a bit of a different direction this time by turning one of the circles into a floral focal point. It’s accents are created with Circle Scribbles dies and Doodlie Do coordinating dies.

This is definitely one of the most well known and popular scripture verses and rightfully so. It’s so beautiful and incites an incredible amount of empowerment and hope. On this card I paired it with two of the sweet brushed birds in an array of blue-greens and purples with the sentiment standing out in a nice True Black.

Hi again friends! I have 2 cards for you today showcasing the new Lovely Lace Mini Kit by Betsy Veldman. πŸ™‚

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Lovely Lace Mini Kit Betsy Veldman

To create this card I trimmed a strip of the pink pattern paper and adhered it to the top of my card base. I placed a strip of grey chevron washi on top and stamped my sentiment directly onto the paper and washi. I overlapped my die cut to create a nice big lacey focal point.

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Lovely Lace Mini Kit Betsy Veldman

For my second card I used the light blue pattern paper and I die cut it with the new Mix & Mat: Scallops scalloped die.

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Lovely Lace Mini Kit Betsy Veldman

Using my Tiny Attacher, I adhered two corner lace pieces to the top of my scalloped die cut and then stamped right in the center of my card. I finished it off with some natural twine.
