Transformation Tuesday // Papertrey Ink

Hello friends and welcome to a fun Transformation Tuesday with Papertrey Ink! If you aren’t quite familiar with this new feature, we are basically taking a card we’ve made in the past that we haven’t been 100% happy with, and showing you how we are re-creating it to be something we love!

Today I am working with this card from last year’s Papertrey releases:

Now although I don’t hate this card, it just felt like it was missing my style a bit. I have this weird thing where I like what I make to really feel like *me* and this card just felt a little bit off.

To get started, I went through what I really liked about this card… 1) color scheme, 2) twine, 3) the cutout concept. So with these things in mind and being used as my inspiration, I created a new card.

A couple of the things I really wanted to change about this card were the kraft cardstock, and the notched corners. For some reason, I just wasn’t vibing with them haha. I decided to go with a more clean cut card that felt a little bit more Clean and Simple.

I kept my color scheme basically the same but switched out the Raspberry Fizz for Berry Sorbet. And instead of using the coordinating dies for the cutout concept, I went with one of the Scalloped Tag Dies instead to create a focal point more around my sentiment.

And finally, to keep those clean lined edges, I used a Berry Sorbet card base as opposed to having an extra layer on the top of my card.

Papertrey Ink // Beautiful Berries & Cutaway Tags

Hello again! Today is all about the Winter Editions!!! Featuring Beautiful Berries & Cutaway Tags.

Starting off with Beautiful Berries… I stamped the two smaller bunches in Ripe Avocado and Pure Poppy. I also used the thick side of the Big Bitty: Simply Chartreuse stripes to make the gift card cozy.

This pattern paper was especially fun when you open it up and see the small stripes!

My second card mixes a bit of modern with a whole lot of tradition. In keeping with the good ole fashioned Christmas greens and reds, I stamped the flowers and leaves in Pure Poppy and Simply Chartreuse. I made the base from Kraft cardstock that I ran through with the Woodgrain Metal Stencil, and finished the card off with a bit of twine. The special twist on this card is the fact that it’s sliced on two sides creating perfect seamless edges.

More August Release // Hey Stacks & Stencil Basics: Dots

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink August 2017 Hey Stacks

Its the last day of our Papertrey Inspiration Explosion and today we are showcasing the super fun Hey Stacks and the oh so useful Stencil Basics: Dots set. Starting off with Hey Stacks!!!

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink August 2017 Hey Stacks

I created a little rainbow of stripes (or blocks I suppose) and added in subtle numbers in the same color… I was sort going for that whole rotating clock/time thing. Do you know what I am talking about?? Anyway, I love how it turned out and can’t wait to give this card away. I have quite a few friends turning 30 right about now so it’s the perfect occasion. πŸ™‚

For my second card, I really wanted to show off both the large dotted stencil and the small dotted stencil.

For the larger dots I went with a white texture paste and for the smaller dots, I ink blended them onto a tag. At first I thought both dots might be too much on one card but I was WRONGGGGG! They are perfect. πŸ™‚

So last night was the big night!! Did you place an order yet?? If you happen to be on the fence about the Beautiful Berries set, let us reassure you today that this set is a must have!!

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Beautiful Berries

To add a little something extra to my card for today I decided to die cut the berries in the upper left corner directly out of my cardstock. Then I popped it up right back into place but used a dimensional adhesive to give it a little twist.

I don’t have too many punches lying around and I definitely don’t have a circular one so to create my inverted edges, I used a part of a heart punch I had instead. It came out just as well and I didn’t need to buy any extra tools!
