Hey all! I’m up for a featured post and I am alllllllllll about the ice cream today! 😉

How adorable is this set, you guys?! I’m dying over here. I knew right away I wanted to make a monster of an ice cream cone (inspired by the giant eyes of my children at our local creamery) and I wanted as many flavors/colors as possible on my cone!

And this card of course had to use the “here’s the scoop” sentiment and I embossed it in black to make it pop on top of all the colors.

And finally, I popped that whole panel up on top of the latest gorgeous bold borders dies. These border dies are so much fun and really take your card up a notch.

My second card really shows off the Bold Borders die and you can see exactly why it’s called “Shine.” I used Vintage Jadeite cardstock (which reminds me of a sorbet color).

The sentiment is an offset in Raspberry Fizz and Hawaiian.

And finally this ice cream cone was created using the faux sprinkles from the previously released Shakers and Sprinkles set (still available! click link below!). I covered the whole scoop in the sprinkles and I LOVE how it turned out! 🙂

And last but not least I used the Big Ice Cream Cone die to create this modern ice cream card.

I created the black watercolor stripes for a bold background and to accent the sentiment.

Baby Mine + A Bit More Baby Mine + Cloud Stencils + Pitter Patterns + Sentiment Staples Welcome // Papertrey Ink

Hey all! It’s Day 1 of the Papertrey Ink May Release and we are starting off with someone truly adorable baby products for you!

by stephanie gold for papertrey ink baby mine a bit more cloud stencils

To create this luscious clouds I started by adding texture paste to only three of the cloud cutouts in my stencil. Before they dried I added some fake sugar sprinkles to the tops of them and they just shined!!!

By using a Pale Peony card base, it accented the tiny heart in one of the clouds. The popped up sentiment added a little more dimension and the raining hearts were the perfect shades in Aqua Mist and Stormy Seas.

These Pitter Pattern tags made my heart go pitter patter when I first saw them and even more so when I put them to use! I wanted to try to create a simple and masculine baby card, and the heart cutouts in the tag die were the perfect amount of love.

Throwback Thursday // Mehndi Medallion

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Mehndi Medallion Grans Garden You Deserve Flowers Sentiments

Hey there friends and welcome to this week’s Throwback Thursday with Papertrey Ink! Today we are revisiting the Mehndi Medallion stamp set.

For me, anytime I see Mehndi art, I am instantly reminded of Henna tattoo art and Henna trees (which the Henna tattoo stain comes from)… so basically my mind quickly jumps to nature haha.

Henna Tree

With that in mind, I wanted to put some leaves reminiscent of Henna tree leaves on my card today.

I started by creating my focal point with the largest Mehndi stamp in Harvest Gold and accenting the circular pattern with stamped leaves in Green Parakeet and Limeade Ice.

To balance the darkness from the sentiment I added some black paint splatters and True Black twine but overall kept my design pretty simple.

Transformation Tuesday // Papertrey Ink

Hello friends and welcome to a fun Transformation Tuesday with Papertrey Ink! If you aren’t quite familiar with this new feature, we are basically taking a card we’ve made in the past that we haven’t been 100% happy with, and showing you how we are re-creating it to be something we love!

Today I am working with this card from last year’s Papertrey releases:

Now although I don’t hate this card, it just felt like it was missing my style a bit. I have this weird thing where I like what I make to really feel like *me* and this card just felt a little bit off.

To get started, I went through what I really liked about this card… 1) color scheme, 2) twine, 3) the cutout concept. So with these things in mind and being used as my inspiration, I created a new card.

A couple of the things I really wanted to change about this card were the kraft cardstock, and the notched corners. For some reason, I just wasn’t vibing with them haha. I decided to go with a more clean cut card that felt a little bit more Clean and Simple.

I kept my color scheme basically the same but switched out the Raspberry Fizz for Berry Sorbet. And instead of using the coordinating dies for the cutout concept, I went with one of the Scalloped Tag Dies instead to create a focal point more around my sentiment.

And finally, to keep those clean lined edges, I used a Berry Sorbet card base as opposed to having an extra layer on the top of my card.

Is there a card in your stash you think could benefit from a little transformation?? Don’t wait until next Tuesday, give it a shot now and be sure to enter the contest on the Papertrey Blog for a chance to win a gift certificate to the store. 🙂

That’s it for me today! I can’t wait to see your newest creations! Much love all.
