Today for Papertrey Ink’s Design Team Tips, I wanted to show you all how I created the heart knot from one of the cards from the last release… pictured below.

A TON of you wanted some help in achieving this knot and at the last Release Party Live I promised a how-to video… so this one’s for you!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now for those of you who prefer more written instruction, below are a few steps to help you while following along with the video.

1 // Begin with your twine in an upside down U shape.

2 // Wrap the right piece underneath the left and lay it down. (Use a piece of washi to tape this piece down while practicing to prevent the pieces getting tangled and confused.)

3 // Wrap the bottom piece through the loop by starting underneath the bottom of the loop. This will create an upside down pretzel shape. (Use a piece of washi tape this piece down as well.)

4 // Using this same piece, wrap back through the loop going over, under, over.

5 // Now you are going to take this same piece and wrap it back around put it through the loop again going under, over, under, over.

6 // Remove your washi and gently pull your knot tight. (If you are using a tougher material like the natural twine, or like the braided ribbon I use in the video, you will need to mold it a bit until it’s tight and in the heart shape.)

That’s it! The more you do it, the easier it gets, I promise! Once the knot is created, you can put it on a card, Bible journal, or even a gift tag like the project I have put together for you below.

I used the magnificent new kit, Good Tidings, to create this gift bag and tag combo (I’m obsessed with this kit). I also wanted to show you how to change the color combination of this kit simply by adding the pink tag and knotted heart with the braided ribbon.

I connected 3 different tags together using twine, ribbon, and tulle along with an eyelet for a super textured and layered look. They are all free flowing tags too, so they have a ton of movement and are sure to catch the recipient’s eye.

Much love all! See you next time!

It’s the last day before RELEASE DAY!!!! Have you been making your lists?! Are you ready for what will hopefully be a successful Release Party Live event?! I AMMMMMMMMM ๐Ÿ˜‰

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink This Just In

The set we are showcasing today is one of a kind and it was designed by a one of a kind designer!! Our very own Dawn McVey may be recovering from her intestine transplant but we are all thinking of her while creating with this incredibly unique stamp and die set. I mean, HOW CUTE IS THIS??? And genius really…

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink This Just In

“This Just In” has so many different options for sentiments and it’s just the cutest. The background on my card was created using one of the TWO stencil options available. I tried to make my card a bit more masculine (which this set easily accommodates) but there are some really cute more feminine ideas I have kickin around for this one too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hey hey hey!! Welcome back!! Today I am focusing on the Flower Power stamp and die set along with the new Window Works die collection.

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Flower Power Don't Forget to Write Window Works Keep It Simple Congratulations

Starting things off with all the Flower Power goodness!! I stamped my flowers on kraft cardstock and then colored over top of them with colored pencils. I masked off the edge of one side of the flowers so I could stamp my sentiment along a straight line.

And for something completely random that I’ve never done before… I outlined my stamped images in black and then used white to accent them a bit. Can’t tell you why, just thought I’d try it out! haha

And finally these Window Works dies… THEY ARE THE COOLEST!!! Now I love a good frame/window/design detail die so these are like gold to me. I used the circular one for this card and the Keep It Simple: Congratulations sentiment in the background for a bold pop of dark.

The paper is the new Bitty Big: Aqua Mist (all together now… YAYYYYYYYYY BITTY BIG AQUA MIST!!!!) and the floral group is from a past Make It Market Kit: Don’t Forget to Write. I accented the card with seam binding and a bit of Smokey Shadow Twill Tape.

It’s Day 3 of the *new* Papertrey Ink release countdown and I have 2 more projects to share with you today!

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Quoted Living Longer Stencil Quatrefoil Tag Sale

Starting out with the newest in the Quoted series, we have Quoted: Living Longer. I thought this quote looked so gorgeous on it’s own, I decided to make it as much of the focal point as I could.

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Quoted Living Longer Stencil Quatrefoil Tag Sale

I began by giving it a background made with a heart “stencil” and stamping all of the miniature hearts that come with this set repeatedly in different colors until it filled the larger heart. The rest of the sentiment is stamped in Smokey Shadow and I popped the banner up for a little something extra.

Next we have the Tag Sale #11 die and the adorable stencils all in quatrefoil shapes! I used Texture Paste mixed with Tropical Teal Ink to create the background and used a vellum overlay to adhere my sentiment. The “Get Well Soon” sentiment is from the newest Ways To Say series.

Welcome back to Day 2 of the November Release from Papertrey Ink! We truly hope you are enjoying the return to a slightly modified version of the “old” release schedule! ๐Ÿ™‚ I have 2 new projects for you today featuring some lovely new products. ๐Ÿ™‚

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Winter Woolens Snowfall Style

Starting things off with Snowfall Style, designed by Heather Nichols! Heather has proved there is no way we don’t need more snowflake stamps and dies with this set. It’s simply beautiful.

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Winter Woolens Snowfall Style

I started by using Fine Linen Ink on Kraft cardstock and stamping all of the smaller snowflakes. Next I die cut one of the large snowflakes from the center and layered it over top of white corrugated cardstock. I accented the snowflake with some light sequins and finished the card off with a sweet script sentiment in True Black.

The next set I am highlighting is called Winter Woolens, designed by Lizzie Jones. This set is perfectly Lizzie in every way and it has been so fun to work with. My favorite element of it (because I’m such a girl!!) is the knitted heart so I decided to create a design with the heart as the focal piece.

by Stephanie Gold for Papertrey Ink Winter Woolens Snowfall Style

The combination of the Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides, and Sweet Blush paired with a Pinefeather stripe and the detail in the heart made the perfect clean and simple card. The knitting is SO CUTE. I can’t handle it.
