Hey everyone! It’s the beginning of new releases at Papertrey Ink and today I have a featured post for you showcasing the latest from the Ways To Say series: Sympathy.

I started by heat embossing my sentiment onto vellum in black powder. I stamped an additional sentiment over and over onto a die cut butterfly to create some texture and add color. To create a two-tone look, I layered a white die cut over kraft cardstock with dimensional adhesive.

To prevent warping when heat embossing vellum, let your heat gun get really hot for about 30 seconds before you start embossing. This will help limit the time it takes to melt the embossing powder.

Supplies:

Stamps: Ways To Say: Sympathy
Ink: Versamark, New Leaf, Hibiscus Burst, Bright Buttercup
Paper: White, Hibiscus Burst Cardstock, Kraft Cardstock, Vellum
Dies: Horizontal Stripes Cover Plate, Life is Beautiful Dies
Other: Natural Twine, Black Embossing Powder

For sympathy cards, I tend to lean towards nature themed, monotones, and ultra simplistic designs. My next card shows off a bit of each of those.

To create texture without bulk, dry embossing is a great technique as well. Here I used an embossing folder directly onto the card base and layered on top it. To add even more interest, I stamped an additional sentiment right on top of my stamped flower.

And finally, a gold embossed frame with black and gold embossed flowers. There is something about the sentiment at the bottom of this card that feels so genuine to me. I don’t know if it’s because it’s something I would naturally say or what, but I really love it.

After die cutting the fun frames die, I rubbed Versamark directly onto the cut piece and then embossed the entire thing. This is a great alternative if you don’t happen to have a color you would prefer in cardstock.

Hey friends! Steph here with another monthly Traveler’s Journal Feature with Papertrey Ink. Today we are showcasing a brand new die collection called Traveler’s Journal: Accessories. I am building onto the album I started in last month’s feature – if you are interested in that post, you can find it here. πŸ™‚

The great selection of shapes and sizes and truly makes this die collection versatile and a must have. I went back in with the album I am creating as a gift and added to many of the pages I had already put together. In addition, I used the dies to make even more pages for this album.

I LOVE how easy these dies make it to add pattern and specialty papers to your albums.

And this frame!!! Eek!! I can never have enough frame dies but this one is perfect to use as a subtle accent as well as to frame a photo. πŸ™‚

It’s a party ya’ll!!! Reverse Confetti is celebrating 4 wonderful crafty years and I am so grateful to be able to participate in their FIRST of 4 days worth of fun and their Countdown to Confetti!! The CardMaker Magazine ladies are joining the RC team and together we have some incredible projects to share with you!!

by Stephanie Gold for Reverse Confetti CardMaker Magazine

I have the pleasure of working with the Think Pink stamp set and these flamingos are too too cute! When I saw the “hey there, beautiful” sentiment, I already knew what I was going to do – tutu that mingo. πŸ˜‰

by Stephanie Gold for Reverse Confetti CardMaker Magazine

The background of the card is made using a light grey cardstock and a grey ink on top. I repeatedly stamped the sun image as well as the decorative “dots” that were originally made for the flamingo’s wings. Together I think they added a bit of muted paradise to help frame my tutu’d friend.

Today is the last day of full product reveals before everything goes live in the Neat & Tangled store tomorrow! Woo hoo! Have you enjoyed the release so far??

by Stephanie Gold for Neat & Tangled Succulent Cover Plate

The thin lines on this succulent are so lovely that I really wanted to double them up. I used two beautiful green cardstocks and overlapped them for a fun netting look. They are adhered to the card base using staples only so the pieces can move about freely and add texture and movement to the design.

Alright friends, it’s Day 3 of the Neat & Tangled May Release and today we are showcasing the adorable new stamp set Prehistoric!

by Stephanie Gold for Neat & Tangled Prehistoric

I fell quickly in love with this sweet, sweet woolly mammoth and his matching sentiment! The card I made was created on a square card base and I accented the background with watercolors.
